Smithing & Leatherwork Summer Camp 2026

Two Camp Sessions for young adults, 14 to 20 years old, will run from June 29-July 3 and July 13-17.

Smithing and Leatherwork Camp is an urban day camp from Monday to Friday, with activities beginning at 9am each day, and finishing at approximately 3pm each afternoon. The two camp sessions have space for 8 campers each, with time split evenly between blacksmithing / intro bladesmithing, and introductory to intermediate leather-working. Participants will get the chance to learn the fundamentals of blacksmithing and bladesmithing as they work their way through forging a belt loop carabiner, bottle opener, and making an outdoor style utility knife.

On the Leather-working side, campers can learn numerous new skills and techniques such as: patterning, cutting, dying, molding, stitching, stamping, and riveting. At the end of the camp session, participants will have made a hand-cut custom belt, stamped bracelet, a pattern-molded belt pouch, and a custom sheath for their utility knife. Everything made in the camp session should fit together as a complete set, with the bottle opener and other survival tools fitting in the belt pouch, the carabiner on a belt loop, the utility knife in it’s sheath, and then each component attaching onto the leather belt.

The Summer Camp session is roughly seven of our standard classes, which have been specially formatted, and packaged together at a 10% discount. Initial reservations can be made by emailing info@nazzforge.com with the subject line “Smithing and Leatherwork Camp”, and should include whether you prefer Session 1 or 2, and if the participant has any food allergies or special needs. We are partnering with the outstanding Sahadi’s, to provide lunch each afternoon, for a small additional amount that’s included in the camp fee. Once we reach the session minimum of 4 requests, we will send out direct links to purchase the camp session and finalize the reservation. The deadline to sign up for either camp session is June 14th.
